Operations Manager — Allmine Paving / Tamko
Full plant accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people. Built and deployed the operational-AI playbook that later scaled to corporate.
The role
Joined as Quality and Raw Materials Manager. Promoted to Operations Manager — end-to-end plant accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people. Promoted again, this time out to corporate as AI & Six Sigma Lead — two moves in roughly three years.
What I shipped
- Real-time process analytics on the floor. Cut process waste materially.
- AI-tuned PID control on loops that had been hand-tuned for years.
- AI-assisted shift hand-offs that eliminated minutes of manual handover every shift.
- SCADA-driven digital-twin monitoring that reduced unplanned downtime.
- Safety record sustained across the tenure.
The pattern
Every one of these shipped the same way: instrument the process, feed the model the right signal, engineer the human workflow around what the model could actually do. The interesting part was never the model — it was operators trusting a new control loop enough to leave it alone.
Why it earned the corporate role
Tamko corporate watched a single subsidiary go from “we should probably do something with AI” to documented operational impact on the back of a small set of focused integrations. Scaling that playbook across nine plants is the current job. Specific dollar and percent figures stay in internal documents; happy to walk through them in person.
